Normally, I expect my Mondays to be days of mayhem and madness. Typically, they do not disappoint on this account. Today would be no exception. Take, for instance, my morning appointment with the dietician where I had to confess I was stressed out, worn down, sleeping like shit, not working out, and not eating particularly well. I haven't been fast-food binging, but I have not be doing the healthy either. Meh.

I had complaints to deal with and administrivia to juggle. A meeting I called with someone (planned as a 15-minute chat about the committees we volunteer on) turned into a 45-minute meeting that I walked away from with a list of tasks and a new position of backing him up with one of our big clients (he's in Client Relations) because this client loves me, I know the program better than anyone else, and I'm quick to respond to them and their issues. Just what I need, more work when I'm starting not to be able to keep afloat. Yay!

On one hand, I could say no. On the other hand, the additional things I'm taking on are things that need doing, I'm good at, and are more in line with where I want to be in the company. So while all of that is good, the bad is that my normal job duties aren't magically getting reassigned. Hence, my stressedness. This is why I'm not taking lunches or breaks, working late, not going to workout class, coming home wasted tired, and sleeping poorly. *sigh*

I need vaycay in a bad way.

Today I did go to class, though it was kind of a bust. They moved us back to the area by the Health and Wellness Center, which is near the loading dock, so it's often open to the outside, and the room was hot and terribly humid. This is the room that does not have any ceiling fans, so circulation is not so good. As a result, it was hard for me to catch my breath, and I had to pause more often than I'd like. At least I could take comfort that other people were bothered by the conditions as well. I am now very sore and instead of getting my workout high, I came home, had a shower and dinner, stretched out on the floor with the dog to write, and could barely keep my eyes open.

And yet, despite all that, I finally got to watch penguins swimming on my Pocket Penguins Nook app. It's basically a penguin cam at the California Marine Institute. When I got home, I had a UPS sticker on the door letting me know the resistance bands I ordered (like the ones we use in class) arrived. Of course, the office was closed, so I couldn't pick them up, but I'll have them tomorrow. I'm also hopeful my general state of tiredness will mean that I will sleep well tonight.
