My Weekend...

I added three scenes to "Persephone" over the weekend, which means that if grading and conferences don't kill me during the week I should be done with it this coming weekend. The story really a departure for me in terms of style and structure. The feedback I've gotten from my constant reader--thanks, Sly One!--has been fairly positive, which is encouraging since I am growing quite fond of this story.

I also wrote about 3,500 words of the nameless Cinderella story. I haven't quite nailed the voice of the narrator in that one yet. It comes and goes. Still waiting for it to crystallize. While I can write without the sound of narrator in my head, it's harder. I have to force things. Like swimming against a current instead of with it. Probably have too much on my mind right now (with the end of the semester crunch) that I can't let myself just fall into it.

So many research papers, so little time...
