In
metafandom today, I noticed the following:
13 posts linked to content on DW.
7 posts linked to content on LJ.
Now, I randomly checked 6 of those 13 DW posts, and the same content was also posted at LJ in 4 of them. In the fifth, the username I checked lead to a purged LJ account. In the last, the user's meta was basically bitching about LJ, so she did that over at DW and not here.
So if
metafandom wants to stay active on LJ, shouldn't they be linking their posts in the LJ community to LJ posts whenever possible? If the post only exists at DW (or IJ or JF) link there, but if the content is available on LJ, the links should direct users to LJ, or at the very least, links to both posts should be included so readers can choose which site they'd like to use for access.
Since that isn't happening, should we assume the following:
metafandom privileges content posted on one site, even in instances where the same content is available elsewhere?
metafandom is as much about reporting on meta as it is about driving people to a new site for content on their home site?
