Dear Once Upon a Time,

You are killing me. KILLING ME. The back and forth with Mary Margaret and David was excruciating, and that was nothing compared to what was happening with Snow and James. GAH. That scene she was blackmailed into having with him was painful to watch.

Naturally, I want to know how the thing she does at the end of the episode gets resolved and what Rumplestiltskin wanted with her hair. And why his price for helping was so low.

Oh, yes. And the Stranger/writer dude. I'm all kinds of intrigued. Since this is a story about stories set in a town with "story" in its name, what does having a storyteller move to town mean?

I want to know more. Soon. Now would be better, but I guess I have to settle for soon.

Love,
Me

Dear Alcatraz,

You keep upping the stakes in the creepy category every week, don't you? The escaped inmates get creepier. The Warden gets creepier. The fucking Mad Doctor with his smokes and tunes as he goes to work on the corpse...creepy.

Please do not take this as criticism. Creepy is good. Sure, you won't be as creepy as American Horror Story, but you're not doing too bad.

Also, thank you for having more of Soto in this episode. He is love, and there should always be more of him.

Love,
Me
I hate to start another post by saying I'm still sick. "Fuck's sake, Barb, get over it already." Maybe you're not really thinking that, but I am. I am pissed at my self for taking so long to dispatch the germs. However, I believe I'm finally getting the upper hand. My sinuses (and nostrils) are dry and sore, but the congestion in them has lessened significantly. And while the cold sore over my lip is healing, I sense some coming on my nose.

So my energy is still low. I still have some lingering unpleasantness, but I think I'm well on the way to mending.

I was even productive today. I get free books from time to time on LibraryThing's Early Review program, and I was behind three reviews: the price of getting the freebies. I reviewed THE HALLOWEEN ENCYCLOPEDIA (comprehensive reference of all things Halloween-related), TEMPEST (a time-travel YA being billed as "the next TWILIGHT" gods help us), and PILGRIM OF THE SKY (a steampunky time travel novel I wanted to like but ultimately didn't).

In fannish news, I have a new section in my new notebook for fandom. I have my fannish to-do lists there as well as some pages called "The Plot Bunny Pen," where ideas for eleven new fics are now frisking about with their kinky brethern.

Not sure why the push to organize things right now. Maybe staying in with the sick and the wintertime blues are causing nesting instincts to kick in.
