Well, it was a Monday and a half. First, while performance reviews were last week, we didn't get our merit increases until this week. And I got 1% less than I had been getting the last 5 or 6 years. Color me unhappy. My new boss was like, "We always get that." Bully for you, sport. I've been getting more, and I sort of count on it. So. Not. Impressed. Despite that, work was it's normal, chaotic!Monday self.

Also, WTF? Fox? You're not giving me Alcatraz so you can air NASCAR? You guys suck.

The whole fitness class thing was to get my body healthier. Ditto with eating better. I've not made losing weight the primary goal, because then I start watching (and obsessing over) numbers and if I'm hitting them or not, and if I'm not, then I get pissed and discouraged until I hit the point where I go, "Fuck it," and stop. And even though I've been telling myself this (and I have lost some weight), I'd sort of like it to be more. I know, I know. Slow and steady is best, but I'm competitive. What can I say? The sis is beating me in total poinds lost, and that's annoying.

Well, since she had a slow week this week, she did some calculations for us, and apparently, I'm not eating enough. Calorically speaking. So despite eating more often and better, my body might be thinking, "ACK! Switch to starvation mode!" No, I've not cut my caloric intake to bad levels, because I knew about the "starvation mode" switch. But apparently, I have some extra calories to play around with each day.

Class tonight went better. It was not as hot, I was able to breathe. We did more strength than cardio today, but it was hard. More planks and push ups. Switching between them. We did work with the resistance bands (squats with them, lying down with the band behind our backs and doing presses up, sitting with the band around our feet and "rowing," lying back with it around our feet and curling toward our chest). We also did these hideous things where you start on your hands and knees, lift your right arm and left leg off (and parallel to) the floor and holding it, then switching sides. These were all work for 40 seconds, rest for 20.

I am sore, but I had my endorphin high (which was also sadly missing last Wednesday), so I'm all good.

Tomorrow I get to sleep in a touch because RipRip goes back for her second shot. Then it will be sit with the wee hound and see if she blows up again. Hopefully, not this time.
