You know that waterbug from the other evening? Guess what I found the next morning? That's right. One of his buddies camped out on the ceiling of the living room. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I did the only reasonable thing. I busted out the heavy-duty roach spray, and I blasted the living fuck out of him. Let me say that while roach spray actually does fuck-all to real roaches, it does terminate lesser insects with extreme prejudice. That bastard dropped instantly. The fact that I could clearly hear the THUNK of his remains hitting the window sill where he landed should give you an indication of his size.

Needless to say, that evening, when I got home from work, I bug blasted all entrances into my abode. There will be an end to things from the woods thinking they can breach my perimeter. Game over, bugs.

I had laptop meltdown at work yesterday. Granted, it's an OLD machine, and it has been getting slower and slower and slower. When I lost connectivity to some drives and rebooted, I couldn't get it to come back up. No blue screen of doom: it was just getting hung up in the log-on protocols. They only way I could get in was in safe mode with networking. Today a new (to me) laptop was on my desk, and miracle of miracles, aside from mapping my network drives, the mirroring IT did on my old hard drive worked like a charm.

One of the guys at work saw Prometheus last week, and while he's not my favorite person, we did have a nice chat about the film, and he knew some Ridley trivia about the scene he wanted to film but ultimately chose not to that made me wish it would appear in the DVD release. I think I might have to go back and see it this weekend. And handle some returns at Target. And get the new Holmes movie, which I never did manage to see in the theatre.

Oh yes. Apparently, I'm also to get caught up on True Blood so I can watch what happens on Sunday.

What about y'all? Any weekend plans?

Struggling with writing over the last week as I have found work after one year without. So this weekend it’s writing, writing, writing.

I know how you feel. Work has been sapping a lot of me lately, so that Avengers drabble is the first thing I've written in forever. I feel like I've been a bad fan this last stretch, mostly reading about people's RL stuff than their fannish stuff. Possibly avoiding because I feel bad that I'm not making fic too.

I gotta get back to it.

Clearly the waterbugs are trying to stage a coup of their human masters. You show them who is boss.
