You know, the more I read about the Olympics, the more pissed I get at NBC. You know it's not bad enough they cut an entire segment of the opening ceremonies and are showing very little of the events themselves, now apparently, they are tampering with the sound. [livejournal.com profile] slyspider said she saw a story about how the rowing had a soundtrack. The "Row! Row! Row!" we're hearing isn't from mikes on the boats: it's all a soundtrack. I'm not sure what else is fabricated, but honestly, do we really need that? Really?

Bah.

For some reason, I'm terribly tired today. I was up later than I should have been, and then the pup woke me up just as I was falling asleep. Because she can be evil like that from time to time. So I've been rather dragging for much of the day today.

However, I did order my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification materials, so that I can study for the test, hopefully sit for it toward the end of the year or beginning of next, hopefully pass, and hopefully be able to get a better job within the company. I've been doing the same job for over 10 years. I need to make a change.

In other nice news, the DragonCon membership I bought from a fellow LJer who couldn't make it this year has officially been transferred, and I've received my registration postcard in the mail. Yay! This year, I'm thinking I might go down Thursday morning just to pick up my registratiosn stuff and then work for the afternoon. Each year I've tried to register on Friday (whether or not I pre-registered for the con), it has been at least a 2-hour wait in line. I'm hoping the Thursday line will be shorter. We'll see.

It was actually a problem of logistics and ambient sound being drowned out. It's explained here...

Also, mention of Archery, hehe...

What? I can't be the only one who thinks Barton would have gotten us a gold medal, am I?

Hee. I like archery. I had two friends who competed in college.

I just wish they weren't editing the events so heavily to "manufacture" an experience rather than letting the experience happen naturally.

I do understand you being sleepy. I am in a similar situation and with working 43 hours a week at the moment and the additional duty of being a team leader in probation, makes me very tired every day.

I feel your pain. I'm the anchor in my team, and I'm volunteering for corporate committee and for project work to develop there.

I'm...overexteded.

I just can't really manage to get interested in watching the Olympics. We used to watch it when I was a kid... but now I just can't make myself want to.

I watch certain events (swimming, diving, gymnastics, equestrian events). When they move to mostly track and field, I lose interest.

The fabricated sound irritates me.

Good luck on your test!

Dragoncon always looks like so much fun. One day I want to go to it.

I always wanted to go to DragonCon, but I never had the chance until I moved down here. It's crazy and overwhelming and FUN! ^_^

And yes. I really dislike how edited (and not well edited) these Games are.
