The Olympics have come and gone, and although the Closing Ceremonies were a completely different kind of spectacle than the Opening Ceremonies,I think I preferred them (excepting the torch lighting). I loved Annie Lennox's number and how Freddy Mercury managed to perform. I was in London after he died, and I bought a little blown-glass heart full of mercury that magically managed to make it back to Germany and then the States with me undamaged. I also really enjoyed the Monty Python number. Sing it now: "Always look on the bright side of life..." Chuckled to see Prince Harry singing along.

As they did for the Opening Ceremonies, NBC edited the Closing Ceremonies, so we didn't get to hear Muse or The Who, and god knows who else. I hate, hate, HATE NBC. Hate.

But tomorrow is Grimm Night, which makes tonight Grimm Eve. Did I mention I both love NBC for giving me a taste of Grimm and hate them for not having the new season officially launch for another month. Bastards. Since the Olympics are over, tomorrow is also the return of new eps of Hell's Kitche and Master Chef. My TV cup runneth over with Monday goodness.

However, I am dreading the week ahead. My one co-worker is now on his third week back in Ohio with personal issues. He has supposedly been working remotely for the last two weeks, but he's taking off this week. Which means the weight of my work world will come to rest on my shoulders this week. Yay. You can imagine my glee. I'm seriously going to make every effort to pace myself and not get burned out by Wednesday. Take lunch. Get away from my desk at regular intervals. Take care of myself.

NBC blows with their coverage. Lots of pretty little commercial cuts and little else. They cut off the closing ceremonies to air an episode of a completely unfunny show that even I in my completely stoned state didn't find funny, then my local news came on and then they finally showed the Who afterward like "Oh yeah here's the Who they were the ones who brought it all to a close." Nice.

Although it was a treat to see the guys on TV that I'll be seeing live in 2013 . . .

They showed the rest of the Closing Ceremonies after the news? Those bastards. It's not like I could have stayed up to watch and been in any condition to face the work week.

God I hate US coverage of the Games so damned much.

I was in Canada for a good part of the Games and I noticed that their coverage is just as Canada-centric as ours is US-focused (which is totally understandable) but not nearly as obnoxious about it.

we didn't get to hear Muse or The Who I know, right? I looked on iTunes for the compilation album and I kept going through the list going . . . wait, when did they sing? Like Kate Bush.

Fuck it! I'm just going to the internet to check on the closing ceremonies. Maybe there it won't be edited.

I am very happy Grimm is returning.

Apparently, they streamed a lot more online. *sigh* I'm still a bitter over the whole thing.

However, yay for more Grimm!!!!!!!!!
