Okay, I'm only five chapters into Anansi Boys, and I'm loving it. I was a little sad to see how small it was when I bought it, more the size of Neverwhere than American Gods, but that's just me loving being lost in a Gaiman story.

I will not spoil, but structurally, Anansi Boys is much like American Gods, There are little Anansi stories peppered through the main story of Fat Charlie, the son of Anansi and a human woman (much like Shadow). However, while the tales of the gods coming to American were set apart as interludes in American Gods, they are more integrated into the story in Anansi Boys.

I will post more once I've, you know, actually finished.
Though I will have more extensive and insightful commentary a bit later, I'd like to take a moment to sum up my day.

This would be the somewhat more insightful commentary I promised earlier. First on Serenity because, well, I saw it first, and so it seemed right to write about it first.

I almost didn't go see A History of Violence today. I've been feeling less than good lately, and I was tired after Serenity. However, by the time I finished my sopapillas, there was only 15 minutes until showtime, and given the crappy times the movie is playing by me, I figured I'd best seize the moment and the film.
