It has been a bit of a week this week. A bit of a week. I was still recovering from con crud and the post-con blues. I've had a fuckload of project work due this week. Not all of it got done, but major progress was made on all. In that respect, the week was a slog, but a successful one.
However, today, Mom ended up back in the hospital. She was having problems breathing. Her O2 levels plummeted, and her pressure spiked. And I mean really spiked. Like 230/80 spiked. Her cardiac enzymes were out of whack and her white cell count was elevated. Those were the bad things. The good things are that while they had her masked, she didn't totally crash and need to be put on the ventilator. They seem to have wrestled the pressure down and the O2 levels up. She's on IV antibiotics, and I talked to her a few times today, and she seems to be in good spirits and feeling better.
She was feeling good enough to tell my sis to go home to wait for the guy coming to upgrade her cable package so it would be nice when she came home. And she was Nooking when my sister left. In the overall realm of Mom-ly medical miseries, this one seems to be a mild one. I just hope it stays that way.
The overall downside to the week is that I feel a bit disconnected from online life and a bit unsettled. After a good powersleep tonight and a calm tomorrow, I think I'll be ready to jump back into it.
