In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This is like the most impossible of challenges because there is so much that I love. I could talk about the awesome writing and acting this season on GOTHAM, and how much I love the way the show is playing with expectations about the villains that we’re all familiar with and problematizing the heroes from the Batman mythos. I could talk about shows that took risks that payed off beautifully, like AGENTS OF SHIELD’s “4722 Hours,” which has only a single character for about half the episode, or THE WALKING DEAD’s “Here’s Not Here,” which breaks away from a high-stakes moment in the story to show a 90-minute flashback of Morgan learning to be human again. The beauty of the writing and the strength of the acting in those episodes just made the character shine.

I could go on at length about the Dragon Age video games from Bioware. Because as much as I love exploring fantasy worlds, fighting monsters, and trying to be the hero, Bioware makes that last bit difficult. In addition to standard video game narratives, there are companions to be courted and romances to be pursued, if you wish. The games also present sent you with ethical dilemmas that you have to address, and how you respond to them affects the game world. For example, a girl you save who is starry-eyed and wants to go off and become a warrior can be encouraged to follow her dreams or talked out of them. If you encourage her, you’ll later see her sacrificed by the warriors she joins after they become corrupted by demons. Another example, one of your companions throughout one of the games (who may be your Love Interest as well) does something horrible. Innocents are killed, and you’re forced to either execute or spare the person.

I would go on and on about STAR WARS, but I already did that in a post I made after seeing the movie for the first time.

Though I took some time off for the sick and the holidays, I’ll be getting back to Pull List Wednesday posts, so I can talk about what’s great in comics.

I suppose it's one of the problems of being a fan: there is so much to love out there! I haven't reached this day in the challenge yet, but I agree with you, it will be difficult if not impossible :)

Too many choices! At any time, I have so many bits of canon from so many things floating around in my head, how do you pick one to talk about?
