My paper is mostly done except for edits! YAY! Actually, the writing of it came pretty easily this morning, probably because I brought a lot of notes and a rough outline with me, so the drafting was more or less just getting my ideas down in an orderly manner. I'm off to run to the business center to print so that I can do final edits on paper. It's just easier for me to do that.

Next year's conference theme is on Adaptation and Audience. Woo! Neil Gaiman is coming back as our writer guest and Constance Penley is going to be the guest scholar. Is it wrong to be excited about the next conference before this one is over?

Today, aside from drafting and catching up on sleep, I got to visit with friends, scope out the silent auction (which has a surprising number of books I'm going to bid on), and did a first pass through the book room. Picked up two works on fantasy theory. In the bookstore, it's best to grab new and different works fast, before they disappear.

Tomorrow is the roundtable, a great paper on dark fics of various kinds, and a session on angels and demons (the creatures, not the movie/book by Dan Brown) where two friends are presenting on SPN and music.

Glad it sounds like things are going well and you're enjoying the conference!

I was terribly bound up in the rush to get ready to the conference and twisted I wasn't as prepared as I like or want to be. But things came together more smoothly than I imagined once I actually got down there.

Thankfully.
